Dental Bridges

What is a bridge?

A dental bridge is used to bridge the gap created by a missing tooth. If you are missing one or more than one tooth, but have healthy gums, then a bridge could be a great solution for you! A bridge is a fixed prosthetic made up of two or more crowns on either side of the gap with a false tooth in between.

If we decide that a bridge is the best option for you, our next step is to prep the adjacent teeth by removing a portion of the enamel to allow room for a crown to be placed over them. In order to create a bridge that will match your mouth and bite, we will then take a digital scan of your mouth to send off to our lab that will customize your bridge to perfectly fit your smile. That day, you will leave with a temporary bridge that will protect the exposed teeth and gums while the bridge is being made.

During your second visit, your temporary bridge will be removed and the permanent bridge will be cemented in place after any adjustments are made, if needed.

What Are the Benefits of a Dental Bridge?

A dental bridge can:

  • Enhance the appearance of your smile
  • Reduce stress on your bite by distributing pressure
  • Prevent remaining teeth from moving out of position
  • Allow you to properly chew and speak properly

How Long Does a Dental Bridge Last?

Bridges can often last 10 to 20+ years with proper dental hygiene and regular checkups
